Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 10, 2026
This is a working draft to launch with — please have it reviewed by qualified legal counsel for your jurisdiction before this becomes the live policy for paying users. Fields in [brackets] still need real values.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and [Legal Entity Name] (“AzwajApp”, “we”, “us”), governing your use of the AzwajApp mobile application and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Purpose of the Service
AzwajApp is a matrimonial platform intended to help Muslims seek marriage in a manner consistent with Islamic guidance, including guardian (wali) involvement, modest photo sharing, and identity verification. The Service is not a dating, casual-introduction, or entertainment platform, and using it for purposes other than seeking marriage is a violation of these Terms.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must be legally free to marry, and must provide accurate information about your marital status.
- You must not have been previously banned from the Service for a violation of these Terms.
4. Your account and verification
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your profile and for keeping your login credentials secure. We offer optional identity verification through a third-party provider; a verification badge indicates that a submitted document was checked against your stated identity — it is not a background check and does not guarantee any user's character, intentions, or suitability as a spouse. You are responsible for your own due diligence before agreeing to marriage.
5. Guardian (wali) accounts
A user may invite a guardian (wali) to oversee her account, including — where enabled — responding to interests and messages on her behalf (“proxy mode”). By enabling a wali relationship, you consent to the wali seeing information about your account activity as described in our Privacy Policy. You may remove a wali relationship at any time within the app, subject to any restrictions the account holder has configured.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for dating, casual chatting, or any purpose other than genuinely seeking marriage;
- Post content that is sexually explicit, harassing, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate for a marriage-seeking context;
- Misrepresent your identity, marital status, age, or intentions;
- Contact other users outside the Service before a mutual connection is established, where such contact would circumvent the Service's safety features;
- Solicit money, gifts, or financial information from other users;
- Attempt to scrape, harvest, or redistribute other users' photos or profile data.
We may investigate and take action against any account that violates this section, including content removal, feature restriction, or account termination.
7. Blocking, reporting, and safety
The Service provides tools to block and report other users. We review reports and act on them, but we do not conduct background checks on users and cannot guarantee the conduct, intentions, or safety of any user you interact with. You are responsible for exercising your own judgment, and for involving your wali or family as appropriate, before and during any marriage negotiation.
8. Subscriptions and payments
Some features require a paid subscription (“Premium”). Subscriptions are billed and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, in accordance with the pricing and billing terms shown at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — we cannot process cancellations or refunds directly for purchases made through those stores.
9. Content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of the photos and text you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant AzwajApp a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and process that content solely to operate the Service (for example, showing your photo to a mutual match under our modesty rules). The AzwajApp name, logo, and app design are owned by [Legal Entity Name] and may not be used without permission.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, poses a safety risk to other users, or for any other reason consistent with applicable law, with or without notice.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. AzwajApp does not guarantee that any user will find a spouse, that any match is suitable, or that any user's stated information is accurate. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AzwajApp is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including outcomes of any relationship or marriage formed through it.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Law / Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be resolved in the courts of [Jurisdiction].
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Contact
